"America's Got Talent: Extreme" judge Simon Cowell broke his arm in an electric bicycle accident concluding month. "Occasionally, we'd take these large acts on the principal bear witness, and every time nosotros did they were i of our favorite auditions," he says. "We kept saying to NBC, 'What if we did a whole prove just full of these acts?'"
In 2020, NBC finally agreed, setting up the serial with host Terry Crews, Cowell judging along with WWE superstar Nikki Bella and the often-injured Pastrana ("that almost comes with the job with him; he'southward cleaved like 70 bones," Cowell says).

"What happened is horrific," says Cowell, who declines to talk over specifics. "I actually spoke to John today and he'southward literally leaving the infirmary to become an outpatient. His mental force and how he's handled this is phenomenal."
The hazard-taking contestants utilise long-harnessed skills, training and constant repetition of their stunts to pull them off.
"I literally tin can't empathise how someone could do this every single week. It just blows me away because of the risks involved," says Cowell. "But they practise."
